Questions bathroom remodelers ask about marketing

Plain answers for bathroom remodeling company owners on reviews, Google Ads, one-day bath competitors, financing offers, the benchmark data and the free 14-day trial.

How many Google reviews does a bathroom remodeling company need?

Enough to beat the three companies that show up next to you. Across 8,145 listings the median is 10 reviews and 49.5% have fewer than 10. The top 10% start at 93. In a mid-sized metro, 50 to 80 reviews with recent dates usually puts you in the map pack for "bathroom remodel near me". You finish maybe four to eight projects a month, so every customer has to be asked. The reviews guide has the script and the timing.

How do I compete with the one-day bath franchises?

Do not compete on speed. Compete on the thing they cannot do: real tile, custom layouts, a shower that does not look like an acrylic liner. Put a page on your site titled "Tub-to-shower conversion vs a one-day bath system" with honest pricing for both. Run Google Ads on their brand plus "reviews" and "cost". Show finished tile work in every ad. A homeowner who has seen a franchise pitch is primed to pay more for something that looks better; you just have to be the next call.

What does a lead cost on Google Ads for bathroom remodeling?

$60 to $200 per qualified estimate request in most US metros, higher in California, New York and the DC suburbs. A click on "bathroom remodel" runs $8 to $25. The ones who lose money bid on "bathroom ideas", "DIY bathroom", and "bathroom vanity" and send everything to a home page. Keep the campaigns on "remodel", "conversion", "walk-in shower" and "contractor" terms with a form and a phone number above the fold. The Google Ads guide covers budgets.

Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for bathroom remodels?

Yes, differently from Google. Nobody on Instagram is searching for a contractor, so you are interrupting. What works is a finished-shower photo or a 20-second before-and-after clip with a concrete offer: a free in-home design estimate, 0% financing for 18 months, or a walk-in shower package with a starting price. Leads run $25 to $80 and are softer than search leads, so call them within five minutes or they go cold. Details in the Meta ads guide.

Should I put prices on my website?

Yes, as ranges. "Tub-to-shower conversions typically run $9,000 to $16,000 depending on tile and fixtures" filters out the $3,000 shopper and reassures the $14,000 one. Companies that hide pricing get more calls from people who cannot afford the work and fewer from the ones who can. Pair the range with financing: a $14,000 project at 0% for 18 months is $778 a month, and that number closes more estimates than the total does. See the pricing guide.

When is the slow season for bathroom remodeling?

For most of the country, late November through January. Homeowners do not want a bathroom torn out over the holidays. Demand picks up in late February, peaks in spring, holds through summer, and bumps again in September when people want the guest bath done before Thanksgiving. The seasonality guide lays out a plan to fill January with estimates booked in October.

Should I offer financing?

If you sell projects above $8,000, yes. Roughly half of remodel customers finance some portion of the work. Having a lender and a monthly payment on the estimate removes the "we need to think about it" that is really "we need to see if we can afford it". Most lenders charge the contractor 3% to 12% depending on the promotional term; build it into the price rather than offering it as a last-minute discount.

How fast do I have to call back an estimate request?

Within five minutes if you want the best odds, within the hour at most. A homeowner who fills out three forms hires the first company that calls in most cases. If you are on a job site and cannot answer, an automatic text that says "Got your request, I will call you at 4:30 today" keeps you in the running. The missed-calls guide and the calculator show what the misses cost.

Does the aging-in-place market need different marketing?

Yes. Walk-in showers, curbless entries, grab bars, and comfort-height toilets sell to adult children as often as to the homeowner, and they search differently: "walk-in shower for elderly parent", "bathroom safety remodel", "ADA shower contractor". Give that work its own page and its own ads. The buyer is less price-sensitive and more trust-sensitive, so reviews that mention a parent or a hip replacement do heavy lifting.

Where does the benchmark data come from?

Public Google Business Profile listings in the "Bathroom remodeler" category, pulled monthly for every state, deduplicated by place, and summarized. The current set has 8,145 companies across 51 states. Nothing is self-reported and no company is contacted. The method and the license are on the benchmarks page.

Why is the median so low if the average is {{d.reviews.mean}}?

Because a few large multi-crew companies and franchise locations have hundreds of reviews and pull the mean up. 1.7% of listings have passed 500 reviews. The median of 10 is the honest picture: half of bathroom remodelers on Google are at 10 or fewer. Compare yourself to the 75th percentile of 33 and the 90th of 93, not to the mean.

What is included in the free 14-day trial?

One service of your choosing, set up and run for 14 days by people who do it for other remodelers. For Google Ads that means campaigns built, call tracking on, and ad spend on your own card. For reviews it means the request system live and messages going out to your recent customers. For a website it means a working draft you can click through. You see everything as it happens.

What happens after the 14 days?

You decide. Continue month to month with no contract at the rate quoted on the setup call, or stop. Anything built during the trial, campaigns, pages, templates, stays with you. There is no follow-up pressure sequence; one message asking whether you want to continue.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Text or call (385) 452-8683 or fill out the free trial form. The only money that moves during the trial is ad spend paid directly to Google or Meta from your own account, and only if you pick an ads service.
