Bath Remodeler Playbook is an independent publication for people who own bathroom remodeling companies: the owner who sells, measures, orders the tile, chases the plumber for the rough-in, and also has to figure out why the phone was quiet in February.
Who writes it
Steven Von edits the site and writes or edits every guide and post. He has spent several years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, including bathroom remodeling companies doing tub-to-shower conversions, full remodels, and walk-in showers for aging-in-place customers. He has sat in the meetings where a $14,000 estimate lost to a franchise with a worse product and a better follow-up sequence.
He is not a contractor. Install detail in a guide is there to make a marketing point, and pricing figures are ranges, not quotes.
How the benchmark data is collected
Once a month we pull public Google Business Profile listings for the "Bathroom remodeler" category in every US state. Each listing's name, rating, review count, website, hours, and photo status are recorded. Duplicates are removed by place, so a company listed in three cities counts once. The current dataset holds 8,145 companies across 51 states.
From that we compute the medians and percentiles in the benchmark report: review counts, ratings, how many list a website, how many show weekend hours, and the review gap between companies with a site and without one. Every number on this site that comes from the dataset is pulled from it directly, so when the data refreshes, the numbers on the pages refresh with it. The dataset is licensed CC BY 4.0. Cite it with a link.
Editorial rules
No pay-to-play. No supplier, franchise, or software vendor can buy a mention, a ranking, or a kinder paragraph. No affiliate links.
Every claim is sourced to the dataset, sourced to a primary document like a Google help page, or marked as opinion. Prices are stated as ranges because a tub-to-shower conversion in Columbus is not priced like one in San Jose.
We do not publish invented customer results. When a guide says what "working" looks like, it describes what to check for, not a promise.
How the free 14-day trial works
Pick any one of the twelve services on this site: Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search, local SEO, a website rebuild, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back, email and SMS, bookkeeping, appointment setting, or reporting. Text or call (385) 452-8683, or use the form on the free trial page. There is a short setup call, then the work starts within about two days.
For 14 days you see the work: the campaigns, the calls, the review requests, the texts going out. No card is taken. At the end you either keep going at a monthly rate with no contract, or you stop and keep whatever was built.
It exists because bath remodelers get pitched constantly and shown proof rarely. A company selling $18,000 projects should not have to sign a six-month agreement to find out whether a marketing vendor can produce an estimate request. Two weeks is enough to tell.
Questions about the data or the trial are answered on the FAQ page.
